Since 1996
A family-run Japanese restaurant serving metro Atlanta for nearly three decades. One kitchen, two ways to eat well.
SushiYOKO has served authentic Japanese food in metro Atlanta since 1996. The same hands that run the restaurant also run Tomato2, our Japanese grocery. One kitchen, two ways to eat well.
During the day, SushiYOKO is comfort food. Tonkatsu, donburi bowls, udon, ramen, and lunch sets, the honest Japanese cooking you would find at a neighborhood spot back home. Nothing fussy. Just good.
At night, the counter turns to omakase. A seasonal tasting course built around fish flown in from Toyosu Market in Tokyo, served at the pace the chef sets. Same room, two very different evenings.
We are not new to moving. Our last home had a Peachtree Corners address, but the building actually sat in Norcross. Regulars still call it the Peachtree Corners place, and we never minded.
Today we are in the same situation, just flipped. Our address reads Alpharetta, GA 30022, but we sit inside Roswell city limits, and we are part of the Roswell community, including Roswell Restaurant Week. So if you have seen us listed under Alpharetta, Roswell, or simply north of Atlanta, it is all the same SushiYOKO. To find us, use the Alpharetta address. That is the one on Google and on our socials.
Chef Tomo has cooked Japanese food for more than 35 years, and opened SushiYOKO in 1996. He still comes in every morning to make the small dishes by hand. The care that goes into the omakase counter is the same care that goes into a bento on the grocery shelf.
That is the whole idea. If you can sit with us, we will cook for you. If you cannot, you can pick up onigiri, a bento, or one of the first sushi push pops in Atlanta from Tomato2 and take a piece of SushiYOKO home with you.
